The Badaw Trail to the Last Oasis 2023 stretched from Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) to the Omani frontier, crossing deserts, rocky highlands and ancient caravan tracks. The route was largely off-road, with deep sand, gravel and stone surfaces.
This rally blends adventure and mechanical demand – testing a car’s autonomy, durability and off-road control over shifting desert terrain.
Key challenges included deep sand driving, extreme heat and navigation without defined tracks. Suspension setups had to absorb persistent impacts, and engine cooling systems were essential under prolonged thermal stress.
